Things just keep getting worse and worse for this celebrity couple...
Evelyn Lozada says she wants to press charges against her husband, Miami Dolphins receiver Chad Johnson, for domestic abuse. Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson was arrested on Saturday night after the couple had a fight which escalated, ending in a headbutt that left a laceration on Lozada’s face.
Sources say Eve found a receipt for condoms in the couple's car, after going grocery shopping. When she approached him about it, he allegedly head-butted her, leaving a bleeding gash on her forehead.
Reports she ran to her neighbor for help this weekend ... this according to the neighbor -- who begged 911 dispatch to keep the whole situation hush-hush.
It's sad... because of Eve's fighting reputation on her reality show, "Basketball Wives," people are calling this HER fault!
Chad changed the story claiming she hit him, but the neighbor who called 911 has a different story.... the neighbor told the dispatcher, Chad
"hit her [Eve] on the head ... She has a nice cut on the forehead that I believe is going to need stitches."
Continuing with.... Chad is a
"very high-profile person and we'd like to keep this as quiet as possible."
He pleaded,
"We don't need the news here."

Just 24 hours after Chad's arrest, things crumbled even more..... the NFL Miami Dolphins cut their new star wide receiver before the season even started! Meaning they don't have to pay him his $900,000 salary as promised.
Ocho also lost his endorcement deal with ZICO Coconut Water..... and not only that, the couple's Realty Show series, titled "Ev and Ocho" was supposed to debut on Sept. 3 but after the arrest, VH1 saying they are pulling the plug...
"Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it."

When it rains it pours..... Evelyn got hit even harder, with a death in her family. She is now mourning her 43 year old brother-in-law, who died Monday night after a long battle with cancer.
Just hours after her family death and only 6 weeks of marriage, reports say Evelyn has now filed for divorce from Chad, claiming her marriage is "irretrievably broken." Shr also released this statement,
" I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I'm grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time."
Ocho sent out an official statement on his website soon after,
I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life.
Ocho was previously convicted of domestic violence back in 2000 ... after slapping his then-girlfriend during an argument.
